OSRAM wins triple honours at the red dot award 2012
OSRAM has been awarded the coveted quality mark for aesthetic forms and sustainable trends at this years red dot award, one of the world’s most important design prizes. The jury awarded a red dot each to the LED image projector Kreios G1, the portable LED luminaire Cuby and the Raystar LED torch. OSRAM offers its customers products which in addition to quality also stand out for their excellent design.
This year, a 30-strong jury of international experts evaluated more than 4,500 products in three categories. In the category "red dot award: product design“, around 1,800 manufacturers and designers from approximately 60 countries presented their products for the award of the renowned quality mark. In the "light and luminaire design" sub-category, OSRAM won with three products for high-quality design.
LED image projector Kreios G1
The LED image projector Kreios G1, ideally suited for unconventional advertising use, stands out for its straight form and is available in black or white. Thanks to its compact size, the projector can be used almost anywhere with flexibility and ease. It can be tilted by 120 degrees and pivot around its almost complete axis. This means that advertisements can be set up flexibly in virtually any location – without modifications to the projector.
Cuby und Raystar – LED luminaires for every-day use with a great sense of style
The Cuby LED luminaire and the Raystar LED torch also received awards for their special design. Uniform design elements provide the entire product family with high brand recognition. Thanks to their dirt-resistant surfaces and an operational life of 20,000 hours, Cuby and Raystar are the ideal solution for a wide range of practical applications. They are available in the following colors: black, pink ("love“), blue ("sky“) or white ("snow“).
The origins of the red dot award date back to 1955. These days, it is one of the largest and most distinguished design awards in the world. Prizes are awarded in three categories: "red dot award: product design“, "red dot award: communication design“ and "red dot award: design concept“.
