ams divests LED backlight technology and product portfolio to Dialog Semiconductor

Premstaetten, Austria (15 November 2017) -- ams (SIX: AMS), a leading worldwide supplier of high performance sensor solutions, has announced today that it has divested its LED backlight technology and product portfolio to Dialog Semiconductor through an asset transaction.

As part of the transaction, Dialog has also acquired specific ams intellectual property rights. The acquired LED backlight integrated circuits (IC) portfolio is already in volume production with Asia Pacific TV manufacturers. The transaction is now closed, with the commercial terms of the deal undisclosed. The related revenues are not material to ams’ business.
