ams OSRAM wins twice at the German Innovation Award 2026

Premstätten, Austria and Munich, Germany (13th of May 2026) – ams OSRAM (SIX: AMS) was delighted to receive two awards at this year’s German Innovation Awards. In the “Excellence in Business to Consumer – Transportation” category, the popular NIGHT BREAKER LED Vintage impressed the jury, while the BATTERYcharge 1010 secured one of the coveted awards in the “Excellence in Business to Consumer – Travel, Sports & Outdoor Goods” category.

The German Innovation Award is presented annually for products, projects and pioneering achievements that drive progress in their industries in a sustainable and innovative way. With this award, the jury – comprising independent, interdisciplinary experts from the fields of technology, science and institutions – honors companies whose innovations enhance the lives of different tar-get groups.

The first award went to the popular NIGHT BREAKER LED VINTAGE H4 in the “Excellence in Business to Consumer – Transportation” category. This street-legal¹ LED retrofit lamp brings cut-ting-edge lighting technology to classic vehicles and combines an authentic warm-white 3000 Kel-vin light color with up to 330% more brightness compared to conventional halogen lamps – while significantly reducing glare for other road users. Thanks to the R2 adapter, it is highly versatile, offers consistently high light output even with fluctuating onboard voltage and boasts a service life up to six times longer. This makes it the ideal solution for classic car enthusiasts who value an original look as well as contemporary safety and long-lasting quality.

The BATTERYcharge 1010 was also recognized in the “Excellence in Business to Consumer – Travel, Sports & Outdoor Goods” category. As an advanced, smart battery charger with up to 10A charging power, it is suitable for both 12V and 24V systems and thus covers a wide range of vehi-cles – from passenger cars to commercial vehicles. A 9-stage charging process for lead-acid bat-teries, a special 7-stage cycle for lithium batteries, plus an integrated repair mode and alternator test ensure optimal battery care and early fault detection. The bright color LCD display, extra-long cables and automatic maintenance mode make the BATTERYcharge 1010 a convenient and relia-ble companion for modern drivers.
