Chinese webinar: Smart surface and automotive multimodal interaction scenario analysis

Join our on-demand Chinese webinar about smart surface

Smart surfaces are part of the automotive interior that combine decorative elements and functionality.

Under the current trend of smart cockpit, more and more car manufacturers tend to arrange a variety of interactive sensing and smart devices, as well as add ambient and indicator lights to the car.

Smart devices and lights can be easily enabled and disabled in common interior surfaces. When they are needed they can be activated via gestures, touch or voice commands. Smart surfaces are already an important part of the smart cabin and an important medium for multimodal interaction.

Imagine, when you wave your hand, the ambient light changes color; when your hand touches the steering wheel, the corresponding lights will be lit; when you press the door edge, the information will pop up; when the hand is moved over the surface, the control buttons appear on the surface. Many scenarios that used to be found only in sci-fi movies are now coming to our cars through smart surfaces.

When it comes to smart surfaces the touch interaction between the human and the machine is of relevance.
Smart surfaces provide a solution that is aesthetically pleasing, dust-proof, waterproof, while combining the advantages of high accuracy, realistic touch, and long service life.
