Capacitive sensing allows for a wider range of hands on wheel detection, even in scenarios where hands are wet or gloves are worn, thus enhancing driver safety. The in-cabin monitoring system checks for passengers, pets and objects in the vehicle and enables convenient and relevant functions such as child and pet occupancy monitoring, adaptive airbag deployment, unbuckled belt detection, person counting, item detection.
