IR illumination for Next-Gen In-Cabin Sensing Systems

In-Cabin Sensing systems have been emerging with an unprecedented pace due to upcoming regulations and safety standards and is accompanied by the ongoing efforts of sensor and illuminator suppliers to address the demands of these new systems. In this presentation different illumination solutions, including IRED and VCSEL technologies will be presented and the current challenges thereof will be highlighted.

Speaker: Firat Sarialtun, Segment Manager at ams OSRAM

Firat Sarialtun has been working in the automotive semiconductor and sensor industry since 10 years, and has global experience with automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. Since 2020 he has been responsible for building the In-Cabin Sensing segment for IR Illuminators at ams-OSRAM which includes LED and VCSEL based solutions. He holds a MSc. degree from TU Munich.
