1. Digital rapid LFT with integrated quality control

Abstract: Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs) have gained wide acceptance due to their simplicity of design and cost effectiveness. While delivering a result within minutes at the point of care, their sensitivity as well as quantification capabilities are limited when read out by naked eye. ams OSRAM developed an optical readout platform that addresses these drawbacks. A spectral sensor is used to quantitatively measure LFT lines with improved sensitivity. The digital and connected nature of the test enables improved quality control and intelligent refinement of data processing.

2. UV-C LEDs and UV Sensors – an ideal partnership in many applications

Abstract: UV-C radiation is a mighty weapon in the fight against the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. It can be used to inactivate viruses and treat all kind of different pathogens effectively. Conventional low pressure mercury UV-C sources are available since decades and used in various disinfection applications already. The unique properties of UV-C LEDs allow completely new system designs which may even outperform existing solutions based on conventional lamps. Especially the combination with a UV sensor enables completely new features like an online dose monitoring, the compensation of aging mechanism of the UV-C LED and the complete system and even the detection of microorganisms.
