The Light-to-Frequency Converter Evaluation Kit supports the light-to-frequency products. The evaluation kit consists of documentation, a CD-ROM software (with USB drivers and cable), a main controller board with a Parallax BASIC Stamp microcontroller plus two microcontrollers operating as coprocessors, and a set of six daughterboards featuring the light-to-frequency converter devices for frequency and period measurement, LED brightness control, strip-chart recorder for use in a variety of different sensing configurations for reflective or transmissive sensing applications.

The TSL235R is characterized for operation over the temperature range of −25°C to 70°C and is supplied in a 3-lead clear plastic sidelooker package with an integral lens. When supplied in the lead (Pb) free package, the device is RoHS compliant.
