ams begins “Sensor Innovation Challenge” with Graz University of Technology
Students of Graz University of Technology are challenged to find a new use case for a brand new spectral sensor.
Premstaetten, Austria (13 March, 2019) -- ams (SIX: AMS), a leading worldwide supplier of high performance sensor solutions, is creating a “Sensor Innovation Challenge” in collaboration with Graz University of Technology enabling students to work with world-leading ams sensors.
Students from the study programs Electrical Engineering, Technical Physics, Biomedical Engineering and Information and Computer Engineering are invited to team up and define a further use case for a brand new ams spectral sensor, which has not so far been released.
“This challenge offers students the opportunity to work with cutting-edge ams sensors. Students who have successfully completed the course which is supporting the challenge are able to find and solve complex tasks independently using state-of-the-art equipment,” explains Alexander Bergmann, Head of the Institue of Electronic Sensor Systems at Graz University of Technology. This Institute offers a lecture that prepares the students to attempt the challenge. Students compete in small groups to win the prize money and also have the opportunity to visit one global ams location of their choice as bonus prize.
“ams sensor solutions are at the heart of the products and technologies that define our world today and tomorrow. We are delighted to share exciting insights into our latest sensor technologies with the students. Moreover, this challenge is a further element in our comprehensive collaboration with Graz University of Technology,” says Verena Vescoli, Senior Vice President R&D at ams.
