ams AS7100_EVM Evaluation kit

The AS7100 device is a low noise, high dynamic range proximity detection solution. It has been optimized for optical force sensing applications designed for automotive and industrial markets. The device consists two low-noise ADC channels capable of simultaneous data acquisition of two programmable photodiode arrays, a temperature sensor, an integrated 940nm IRED and an advanced IRED driver. It comes in an optimized 4.0mm x 3.05mm x 0.7mm package. The proximity function synchronizes IR emission and detection to sense nearby objects. The architecture of the engine features low noise, high dynamic range, ambient light subtraction, advanced crosstalk cancelation, FIFO, and interrupt-driven I²C communication. Sensitivity, power consumption, and noise can be optimized with adjustable IRED timing and power. The proximity engine recognizes detect/release events and produces a configurable interrupt whenever the proximity result crosses the upper or lower threshold settings.
