Shanghai, China (June 26, 2024) -- ams OSRAM (SIX: AMS), a global leader in optical solutions, announced its participation in the 19th Auto Lamp Industry Development Technology Forum and Shanghai International Auto Lamp Exhibition (ALE) held at the Kunshan Huaqiao International Expo Center from June 26 to 28. ams OSRAM will showcase its automotive intelligent lighting and intelligent in-cabin of vehicle solutions along with related products and technologies, demonstrating lighting application in the automobile field at this exhibition. Lighting and in-cabin of vehicle systems, as two core fields of modern automobiles, are undergoing significant upgrade and iteration driven by the trend of intelligence. With the application of technologies such as LED and laser, intelligent lighting will become more sophisticated and personalized, meeting consumers’ higher demands for safe and comfortable driving. Meanwhile, the smart in-cabin market is continuously expanding, integrating human-machine interaction and intelligent central control technologies to create a “third space” that blends information, entertainment, and connectivity, offering passengers a richer and more dynamic driving experience.

Automotive Lighting
In the field of automotive lighting, ams OSRAM will exhibit a series of optical solutions, such as a 15mm single lens module – high beam and low beam, stylish RCL with 360° SYNIOS® P1515 LED, eco end to end RCL design with SYNIOS® P1515, and grill light demo with SYNIOS® 2222 and RGBi, which not only meet basic functional requirements but also enhance the vehicle’s personalization through the use of color and dynamic effects, leading the fashion trends in automotive lighting design.
The SYNIOS® P1515 family of automotive signaling light LEDs by ams OSRAM is an innovative product featuring five-sided emission in an ultra-small package with 360° radiation characteristics, allowing automotive manufacturers to easily realize bold and dramatic rear lamp designs with either fewer LEDs or a thinner optical assembly while maintaining a very high level of homogeneity.
Interior Ambient Lighting
Interior ambient lighting is designed to create a more comfortable and personalized driving environment. At this ALE, ams OSRAM will showcase a range of intelligent control and highly sensitive lighting solutions, including RGBi LED Board, OSIRE® E5515 RGB sidelooker used in TactoTek IMSE® technology, smart surface RGBi ambient lighting, intelligent in-cabin matrix reading lights, RGBi Demo, ultra-thin interior ambient lighting.
ams OSRAM’s OSIRE® E3731i intelligent RGB LED can control hundreds of units simultaneously, with each unit featuring a digital core that enables low-latency communication over a standard serial bus interface with any microcontroller. ams OSRAM has also developed a new Open System Protocol (OSP) running on the OSIRE® E3731i. Using OSP, any microcontroller can transmit instructions to modulate brightness and color individually to each LED.
Sensors and Related Solutions
In automotive design, sensors are crucial for achieving vehicle intelligence and automation, enhancing driving safety and comfort. At this ALE, ams OSRAM will showcase position sensors, optical pressure sensors, the Icarus demo system, the HOD solutions, capacitive smart virtual buttons, as well as dToF and headlamp interaction demos. These sensor products play a significant role in promoting intelligent vehicles.
Furthermore, the RGB “side-emitting” LED function of the OSIRE® E5515, the intelligent interior bus (OSP), and stable wavelength EEL technology, specially designed for modern automotive interior lighting, will also be shown at this ALE. These technologies further enrich ams OSRAM’s product portfolio in the automotive field, providing robust support for the innovation of next-generation automotive applications.
