OSLON® Black Flat X for automotive & mobility applications

The OSLON® Black Flat X is part of ams OSRAM’s successful OSLON® Black Flat brand family, designed to meet the requirements of a wide range of automotive exterior applications. It is known as the first surface-mount technology (SMT) LED brand for forward lighting enabling mass-market adoption to mid segments – a target market that was unaffordable to reach with conventional technology. The OSLON Black Flat X offers LED devices with the highest efficiency in the ams OSRAM LED portfolio. This makes it the perfect light source for standard forward lighting applications where system cost is a major consideration. The SMT device is stable, durable, and can be used with standard processes. The pad geometry of the widely used OSLON® Black Flat product platform was further optimized to allow for excellent thermal conditions, while the established, outstanding contrast of the package concept is a family feature.

  • Highest efficiency typ. 460lm @1000mA per chip
  • Ideal for FWL applications with high focus on system cost
  • Whole family can be used with Al-metal core PCBs
  • Very low thermal resistance
  • High contrast due black package and TiO2 casting
  • Design-in one product family and get color and multi-chip devices
  • Introduction of new color binning for better homogeneity
  • Color over Angle improvement
  • Optimized leadframe design for better thermal management (only KW2 HML631.TK)

  • Highest performance (460lm/chip @1A) can reduce heatsink size or remove it from the headlamp design
  • Compatible with Al-metal core boards
  • High contrast of 1:200 due to black package material and TiO2 casting
  • Uniform light pattern
  • Extreme low thermal resistance
  • High robustness against harsh ambient conditions
  • Highly homogenic color over angle radiation due to dielectric coating
  • Less power consumption (CO2)
