The electrical nature of UV-C LEDs opens up for completely new use cases or implementations of UV-C based disinfection or biological decontamination systems: instant on/off-behavior of full UV-C radiation power, by orders of magnitude higher switching frequencies and corresponding lifetime make them the ideal technological solution for application challenges which required chemical, electrical or thermal treatments in the past. The set of attractive use-cases spans from water / air treatments, to reduction of pesticide deployment in agricultural environments or protective measures in biofuel containing tanks for rarely used aggregates in emergency power installations or for pleasure boating engines.
UV-C treatment requires exposition to specific amounts of minimum radiation doses for beating contaminations with certain types of bacteria, fungi etc. To make sure the required doses have been really provided it is crucial to also provide a feedback loop on dose measurement which not only indirectly tracks the effective exposure time but measures the real spectral UV dose. The AS7331 sensor provides a precise and reliable measurement of UV-C dose and thus ensures effective and safe disinfection at minimum power consumption.
Typical disinfection setups are being complemented by pairs of temperature sensors that allow contactless monitor air or water flow, status indicators - including Chip LEDs, SMARTLEDs, TOPLEDs, Mini TOPLEDs, Multi TOPLEDs, and PointLEDs - which provide clear and immediate feedback on the operational status of your disinfection system.
Finally, safety measures are extended by position sensors that provide accurate and reliable positioning information, ensuring that the disinfection system is properly closed / locked when UV-C source is in operation.
