Be road ready: ams OSRAM demonstrates cross-portfolio expertise at Automechanika 2022

Premstaetten, Austria and Munich, Germany (12 September 2022) -- ams OSRAM (SIX: AMS), a global leader in optical solutions, will present its comprehensive aftermarket product portfolio at Automechanika 2022 which takes place in Frankfurt, Germany September 13-17. In addition to LED, xenon and halogen products and a portfolio for equipping and maintaining vehicles, a range of battery charging and battery testing devices designed especially for professional automotive service shops will be presented for the first time. For the off-road segment, the company’s powers of innovation and excellent customer support come together in its revolutionary LEDriving® portfolio. One of the highlights at Automechanika is the live demonstration of how to install a NIGHT BREAKER® H4 LED, the first street-legal H4-LED retrofit lamp from ams OSRAM. This standout product has been nominated for many awards including the Automechanika Innovation Awards.

“We want to help make the driving experience safer. This year’s Automechanika is a great opportunity for ams OSRAM to reveal our new overall product approach. By providing classic LED technologies coupled with high-quality end-user and automotive service shop products, we offer even better solution packages designed to further extend our market and innovation leadership,” says Hans-Joachim Schwabe, Executive Vice President & General Manager Business Unit Automotive in the Lamps & Systems segment at ams OSRAM.

See and be seen better with the latest generation of LED lights

As the market leader, ams OSRAM is known for outstanding solutions in automotive lighting. With the innovative LED products it is presenting at Automechanika, the company is taking visibility on the road to an even greater level. The spotlight will focus on the latest flagship products in the NIGHT BREAKER® family, namely the H4 LED and the first H7 LED, which is now also approved for 24V. Nominated for this year’s Automechanika Innovation Awards, the NIGHT BREAKER® H4 LED is already regarded as one of the industry’s pioneering innovations, because it can be installed without the need for any special tools, and more importantly because it lasts five times longer[2] and delivers 230 percent brighter light[3] with 50 percent reduced glare[4]. These products make it easier for drivers to see the road ahead and therefore make driving safer, especially at night. For maximum road safety, ams OSRAM is also presenting the OSRAM LEDguardian® ROAD FLARE Signal TA20 as a highlight among the LED warning and safety lights. This new product can be used in addition to the legally mandated warning triangle that is e.g. used in Germany to indicate a damaged or immobilized vehicle on the road, ensuring even greater visibility in a particularly vulnerable situation.

Further evidence of ams OSRAM’s market leadership in the off-road segment comes from its extended and updated LEDriving® portfolio, proving that the company can meet customer demands for optimum usability, performance and brightness. LEDriving® HL INTENSE is the company’s most powerful LED off-road retrofit lamp to date, capable of delivering up to 350 percent brighter light3 . True to its name, LEDriving® HL EASY is easy to use thanks to a plug-and-play system and the fact that it does not require an adapter or cap. LEDriving® HL BRIGHT products are particularly compact and therefore suitable for 15 ECE types.

In the traditional field of halogen and xenon lamps, ams OSRAM has updated and added to its famous NIGHT BREAKER® family. Delivering light that is up to 220 percent brighter[5], the XENARC® NIGHT BREAKER® LASER is now the brightest ams OSRAM xenon light and comes with a three-year guarantee. NIGHT BREAKER® SILVER, now in optimized packaging, is the perfect choice for drivers with high demands in terms of light intensity and service life.
