Growers require lighting systems with an appropriate light spectrum, high energy efficacy, the correct light intensity, sufficient light uniformity and a long operational lifetime. In addition, it is important to growers that the fixture and all integrated components are IP-Save, meaning they do not infringe on existing intellectual property. The LEDs used in horticulture lighting directly influence all these requirements. For this reason, it is essential for an LED manufacturer to develop LEDs that meet these technical and IP‑related expectations to ensure reliable, compliant, and high‑performance lighting solutions for growers.

At ams OSRAM Thomas is responsible for the lighting business in North East Europe, Middle East and Benelux. He is an expert in horticultural lighting. In his current position as a product marketing engineer, Thomas has a strong focus on market research, product and market development, benchmarks, system calculations/simulations. He holds a Master's degree in Logistics and a Bachelor of Engineering.
