Light+Building 2012: Osram presents itself as total solutions provider with three booths

The lighting market is currently in the midst of a process of extensive technological change. Semiconductor-based technologies such as LEDs are creating brand new possibilities for customers in terms of application and efficiency. As one of the largest lighting manufacturers in the world, Osram is actively shaping this change and has positioned itself in recent years as a one-stop solutions provider for everything from components to complex lighting solutions. With solutions for the most diverse customer requirements, the company is now presenting itself at Light+Building, the leading international trade fair for lighting. The focus is on lighting concepts for specific applications, excellent lighting technologies, new presentation systems for the retail trade and the Osram partner network "LED Light for you".

"The rapid pace of developments in the field of LEDs is prompting far-reaching changes in the lighting market. Trends such as energy efficiency, standardization and modular or individual solutions are pointing the way ahead. Osram is responding to these requirements with innovative LED concepts", explains Klaus-Günter Vennemann, CEO of the General Lighting Business Unit of Osram.

Lighting concepts for a diverse range of applications
Shop lighting, lighting applications for industrial buildings, lighting for streets, arenas and the catering business and lighting concepts for homes: from individual components all the way to complex solutions, Osram is presenting its new and further developments in all seven of these fields of application at its "Applications" booth. An in-depth dialogue with customers is a key element: since the last light+building new possibilities have been identified and customer ideas collected at more than 50,000 worldwide consultation days for the retail trade and at a pan-European roadshow for some 7,000 lighting planners, architects and electricians. These efforts have helped OSRAM to come up with products and services that cater to the requirements of the most diverse applications.

News in diverse technology areas

Impressive overall solutions require excellent individual technologies. The further development of individual lighting technologies hence remains a key priority for Osram. Osram will be showcasing new developments in nine technology categories at light+building 2012.

These include the first LED replacement on the European market for 75W incandescent light bulbs, the Parathom Classic A75 Advanced, as well as the Zhaga-certified LED Light Engine Prevaled Core Z2, which is ten times as efficient as an incandescent lamp and offers luminaire manufacturers both planning reliability and flexibility.

Greater flexibility thanks to new presentation systems

Due to the increasingly varied range of light technologies and lamp types on offer, there is now a growing need for more consumer-friendly information at the point of sale – i.e. in the aisle.

For the first time, Osram has its own "Retail" booth at light+building 2012.

Divided into the three sections Demonstration, Detailed Information and Retail Products, a free-standing yet modular presentation system for LED luminaires increases flexibility for the retail trade. As a result, new product lines can easily be integrated in an existing aisle concept and individually installed. One feature of the new "aisle integration solution" is a touchscreen that customers can use to call up information about the products displayed.

Certified knowledge from expert to expert

True to the motto "You have the idea – we have the solution", Osram's partner network "LED Light for you" (LLFY) shows how architects, lighting consultants and designers can benefit from the certified expertise of LLFY members. "LED Light for you" has been providing professional advice on LED lighting issues since being established in 2006. Members of the partner network are companies who offer optical, thermal or electronic solutions.
