Osram awarded the German Design Award 2016
The DL 30 LED outdoor luminaire range from the OSRAM subsidiary Siteco is one of the winners of the German Design Award 2016.
The decorative DL 30 LED road luminaire is ideal for designing urban areas, parks and residential zones with a uniform appearance. The luminaire designed by the Austrian design agency KISKA features a highly individual look with concise lines. "With its purist look the luminaire blends harmoniously and discreetly into its surroundings," stated the jury of the German Design Awards 2016.
The faceted reflector optics of the DL 30 LED guide the light precisely to where it is needed, and glare is simultaneously reduced because a direct view into the light source is hardly possible. The luminaire is installed and maintained with ease, and is especially robust due to a tough construction and high quality materials. The photometric enclosure of impact-resistant PMMA (impact resistance: IK08) protects from vandalism, and in contrast to polycarbonate (PC) remains transparent over the long run to ensure optimum light transmission. Basic, Plus and Premium control packages are also available for especially efficient lighting according to requirements.
The German Design Award is the international, premium prize of the design council, with the aim of discovering design trends, presenting them and supporting them with awards. As a consequence, high quality submissions from the product and communication design sectors are distinguished each year, that in their way are all pioneering for the international design scene. The German Design Award, initiated in 2012, is one of the most renowned design competitions in the world, and is also highly respected outside of its specific sectors.
