ams expanding chip testing facility in Philippines

Calamba City, Philippines (July 8th, 2015), ams AG (SIX: AMS), a leading provider of high performance analog ICs and sensor solutions, holds today the official opening ceremony for its new chip testing facility in Calamba City, Philippines.

The expansion of the ams chip testing facility in Calamba City, located in a customs-free special economic zone is a dedicated high volume production site for testing of packaged ICs as well as finishing, taping, final inspection and shipping. ams has been running its testing facility for almost 10 years in Calamba and did open a new test center in 2013. The extension now means an increase of 130% in size  and will result in a total net production area of 10,000 m². The building will test assembled ICs  under the electronics industry’s most rigorous quality standards and help satisfy the fast-growing demand for our advanced analog ICs, sensors and sensor interfaces. All production floor expansions will be class 10k cleanroom standard.

The substantial investment by ams in the extension of the testing facility underlines its commitment to production quality. The factory has received numerous individual customer approvals and industry certifications, including ISO14001 and ISO/TS16949. After undergoing testing in the Calamba City factory, the ams chips will be shipped to customers in the automotive, medical, industrial, and consumer electronics industries.
