Presence & proximity detection
Detect what is around you, where it is located and which direction it is moving with precision sensors by ams OSRAM.
ams OSRAM offers a diverse set of products designed for presence and proximity detection
These solutions enhance functionality and responsiveness in user interactions across various applications.
Medium- and longer distance proximity sensing solutions for detection ranges typically >1 meters could be realized by a selective combination our discrete components: IR LEDs or Edge Emitting Lasers (EEL), sensitive photodiodes for the back-reflected light , and LED / Laser Drivers. This flexible selection of discrete components allows users to customize their sensing solution according to system requirements and allow accurate and reliable proximity detection for a wide range of applications.
For close proximity – here at typical detection ranges below 1m – ams OSRAM offers high-performance integrated proximity sensors, that are easy to integrate (also in smart displays) and provide reliable and accurate detection. The combination of digital light sensors and IR LEDs enables efficient detection and illumination and offers more flexibility in design and implementation. These solutions are perfect for display brightness control and presence detection in various applications.
The capacitive sensors offer precise detection, making them ideal for integration into touch and touchless control interfaces and presence detection in consumer electronics, automotive, and industrial applications.
Single-zone and multi-zone dToF sensors provide precise distance measurement and proximity detection, enhancing in a cost effective way the obstacle detection performance in applications such as robotics and drones. They also extended functionality in smart home devices or smart lighting solutions where the sensors help saving energy or support shadeless illumination.
