Revolutionizing Night Driving: The Success of EVIYOS™ in new Opel Grandland

This is now a reality, thanks to EVIYOS™ HD 25 gen 1 light sources integrated into the new Opel Grandland's lighting system. This innovative lighting technology, developed by ams OSRAM and the h-Digi® microLED modules developed by Marelli, is setting new standards for automotive lighting.

At the core is the EVIYOS™ HD 25 gen1, a full-range light source from ams OSRAM. Known for its sleek, compact design and exceptional energy efficiency, EVIYOS™ HD 25 gen1 is now a standard feature of the new Opel Grandland (aspect ratio 1:4 with more than 25,000 pixels). This means that every driver of the new Grandland can now experience the unparalleled benefits of this advanced lighting technology. This inclusion underscores the commitment to providing drivers with the best possible visibility during nighttime driving.

Driving at night has never been safer or more comfortable. The EVIYOS™ HD 25 gen1 ensures precise light distribution allowing glare-free high beam mode, a significant advantage of the micro-LED technology used in Marelli's h-Digi® microLED modules. This means the driver can enjoy bright, clear illumination without glaring oncoming traffic, enhancing safety for everyone on the road. The integration of EVIYOS™ HD 25 gen1 into the new Opel Grandland's lighting system is more than just a technological achievement; it's a leap forward in ensuring safer and more enjoyable night driving. 

End of 2024 a team of experts led by Dr. Norwin von Malm and Stefan Grötsch from ams OSRAM were honored with the German Future Award 2024 for the “Digital Light” - a LED matrix technology that turns car headlights into projectors. The first LED pixel arrays from the ams OSRAM factories are being built into a radically new light source for adaptive driving beam (ADB) car headlamps, the EVIYOS™ system. The LED technology developed by the team opens up new possibilities for innovative designs thanks to its high-resolution light distribution and its energy efficiency. As part of their Digital Light project, the researchers and their teams have completely rethought intelligent LED technology and established a basic technology that enables numerous new applications.
